How I Got Here

final Transparent black text.png

I started with a BTEC National Diploma in Social Care. One of the placements I had was in a school for Emotionally and Behaviorally disturbed children who were dealing with a wide range of family backgrounds and trauma. I found i wanted to help but didn’t feel equipped at that stage.  I went on to focus on the educational side of things and began teaching English abroad.  I have taught in around 15 countries all over the world and encountered a lot of ways stress can manifest in people and from a wide range of situations.  I always wanted help students deal with all the adversities of life by bringing ethics and counselling into my lessons. When I was teaching in Cambodia, I was driven to get a degree and had many female students coming to me to talk about their problems in relationships.  The two things combined pointed me towards getting a degree in counselling and ethics.

After lockdown I felt motivated to get this final qualification which taught me tools in mindfulness, pain management, stress management and how to deal with specific stress around social anxiety, performance anxiety and relationship recovery.  All the life experiences and education has led me to a point where I am confidently equipped to help others.
